Introducing Cap: A 3D Virtual Reality Camera Compatible with Any Existing Platform
We’re pleased to announce the launch of our new 3D virtual reality camera: Cap, which will launch on Indiegogo on Augest 7th.
Cap is a stereoscopic camera that can shoot 4K resolution videos and photos in 3D, which can then be viewed on a VR headset. The camera, produced by the VR company ANTVR, imitates how your eyes and ears capture the world, which creates a vivid 3D view with surround sound audio. The photos and video that you create can be viewed in 3D on any VR headset using any photo, video, or chat platform (including YouTube, Vimeo, Skype, Facebook, Snapchat, Periscope, and Instagram), regardless of whether that platform supports a 3D format. Because Cap’s field of view, aspect ratio, and image distortion are designed to match a VR headset, it doesn’t matter which viewing platform is used to transmit the images.
The camera is small, lightweight, and features stereophonic sound recording and time-lapse shooting, so the possibilities for Cap go well beyond just uploading the footage to your favorite platform. You can also live-stream in 3D, and viewers with VR headsets will feel as if they’re right there on the scene—seeing and hearing what’s going on in exactly the same way as the cameraman. You can likewise have a 3D video chat with friends and family and feel as if you’re in the same room together. You can even stick Cap on a drone, a dolly, a balance bike, or your pet, and then view the footage being captured in real-time with the accompanying Cap app.
Cap is easy to use, and is perfect for both VR enthusiasts and photographers and videographers—whether professional or just hobbyists. Never before has a device combined these fields in such a simple and stimulating way.
